THE countdown to foam, inflatable obstacles and a great family day out is on with less than a month to go before teams battle it out in Barnard Castle to win the It’s a Knockout trophy.
The annual event organised by charity fundraisers, The Clique, is immensely popular with both competitors and spectators alike and this year looks to be no exception.
It takes place on July 13 and the fun and games begin from noon onwards.
David Harper, from The Clique, said: “We have about 15 teams already. Ideally, we’d like 20 teams so there is still time for people to enter.
“JT Atkinson have stepped up to be our main sponsor for the event, showing their commitment to the community. Without their continued support we wouldn’t be able to do this.
“The It’s a Knockout was an instant hit when we started organising it. It’s a great fun day out for all the family and we get to raise a lot of money for lots of local causes.”
In addition to the competition there will be bouncy castles, food stalls and a licensed bar. From 5pm there will be live music from local bands including The Missing Chords, Katie, Geriatric and the Pacemakers and The Revamps as well as a disco from DJ, Andrew Nicholson.
Entry to the It’s a Knockout is £4 for adults, £3 for U16s, which includes access to bouncy castle for the entire day.
He added: “It’s a great day out for the family and if anyone wants to bring a hamper, have a picnic and watch the fun that’s great, but we ask if people could refrain from bringing their own alcohol as we raise funds through money taken on the bar. Everything The Clique raises we give back to the community.”
