A MERRY band of charity fundraisers, old and young, were out in the midday sun on Saturday to complete their annual eight-mile bed push.
Members of the Clique, a Barnard Castle charity which formed more than 20 years ago, set off from The Crown, at Mickleton, before heading down the dale all the while pushing a bed.
Despite the heat, 20 members of the group, which raises funds for organisations and good causes in the Teesdale area, were joined on the fun trek by the junior section of the group.
The group was joined by a burgeoning junior section who collected donations en-route to Romaldkirk, calling in at Doe Park caravan site, before a rest break in Cotherstone, then down through Lartington and into Barnard Castle
Chairman of the group, Matthew Croom, said: “We have been well supported this year.
“The Crown, at Mickleton, have been fantastic and served us bacon sandwiches before we set off. The Rose and Crown, at Romaldkirk, have also supported us well.”
