RAIN showers threatened to call a halt to Middleton-in-Teesdale Primary School’s colour run.
However, although members of the Friends of Middleton School (FOMS), who organised the event, got a soaking setting up on the playing field, the clouds parted when the first children took to the course.
Last year the school organised its first colour run and children enjoyed the event so much that members of FOMS decided to organise the full event themselves, ordering the paint, setting up the course and manning the four colour stations, where children were doused in jubilee colours – red, white and purple. FOMS member Emma Spry said: “We’ve got a few members retiring this year as their children are moving up to the next school. If anyone would like to join FOMS we’d love to hear from them..”
