THE latest in summer styles helped boosted a cancer charity’s coffers by more than £400.

A large audience crammed into M&Co, in Barnard Castle, to see the latest summer arrivals and to support the Teesdale branch of Cancer Research UK (CRUK).

The show presented both day and evening wear, shown off by volunteer models.

Pam Ashmore, of CRUK, said: “We raised £420 at the fashion show in M&Co tonight.

“Thanks from the committee to everyone who supported, especially all the models, and Andrew Nicholson for providing the music.”

The clothing retailer hosts a charity fashion show about once a month and has previously supported organisations such as the Lions.

They also hosted a fashion show for the town’s 1940s weekend, with M&Co clothing carefully selected and combined to give a vintage feel to the occasion.

The audience at the Cancer Research event was one of the larger ones in the recent past, with all seats filled and standing room only.

Kirsty Guy, of M&Co, said: “It (the crowd) is very impressive. Pam has done really well.”
