TODDLERS at a forest school have been improving their outdoor skills while helping wildlife at the same time.
The group of youngsters at Bright Woods Forest School, based in Deepdale Woods, Startforth, learned how to make bird boxes on Thursday, February 22, to mark National Nest Box Week.
Gemma McColl, of the forest school, said along with doing their bit for wildlife, the children were also developing their hand-eye co-ordination by sawing wood and hammering nails to make the nest boxes.
