TEESDALE’S Lartington Hall has been acquired by Apartment Group. It becomes the Newcastle-based company’s second property in the area after it bought Jersey Farm in Barnard Castle in 2020, renaming it Runa Farm.
Lartington Hall, Lartington, was put on the market last September with an asking price of £3.8m.
While Apartment Group has not officially confirmed the purchase of Lartington Hall, it has heavily hinted at it through social media. Its website shows a photograph of the building under the title “Coming Summer 2023” .
It also features views of the inside of Lartington Hall and the words: “Our newest venue is heart-stoppingly beautiful, set within 75 acres of peaceful parkland and located on the North Yorkshire and County Durham borders, close to the lovely market town of Barnard Castle. Boasting exquisite and tasteful interiors, super pretty gardens, and its very own private chapel. We can’t wait to share more with you soon.”
On March 6 on Facebook, the company gave a “sneak peek” of the newest member of the Apartment Group family and said: “More details on our gorgeous new venture will follow in the coming weeks – we can’t wait to share what we’ve had up our sleeve!”
Hashtags included #northeastbride and #northeastweddingvenue, suggesting it will continue to be used as a wedding venue.
Apartment Group describes itself as the North East’s premier leisure operator of bars, pubs, clubs, hotels and wedding venues. Other properties include Le Petit Chateau in Northumberland, Newton Hall and The Joiners Arms Gastro Pub and Luxury Inn.
