MORE than £600 was raised for charity during a fun street party organised at Eggleston Hall Gardens cafe during jubilee celebrations.
With entertainment from Barnard Castle-based Marvin the Magician and live music from Two Old Blokes, James Dykes and Eddie Tinkler, the street party, on Friday, June 3, was a huge success.
Organiser Kaylee Carter, who works at the Coach House Cafe, said: “We raised £664 for charity, which we are going to split between the Great North Air Ambulance Service and the Stephen Mitchell Memorial Fund.”
The money was raised from a raffle, which had prizes donated from a variety of businesses including Raby Castle, Northside Retreats, Grassholme Observatory, Middleton Forge, Chocolate Fayre and The Bowes Museum, and a tombola and face painting. Ms Carter added: “Everyone was so generous and we had a fantastic day celebrating.”
