IT was a cold, windy and damp day with the remnants of Storm Barra chilling members of Barnard Castle Rotary and the Satellite e-Club.
But the sort of day to “put your big coat on” didn’t deter them from a successful session selling their Christmas quizzes.
David Yeadon, from the Rotary Club, said: “Last year with the lockdown, we were unable to sell quizzes, so this year they were eagerly snapped up by long-term enthusiasts.
“We were selling quizzes on the Market Place on December 15, then at The Bowes Museum fair on December 17, 18 and 19, by which time we fully expect to have sold at least 500 quizzes, raising £1,000 for Shelterbox, for which there is great demand under the present refugee crisis.
“Thank you for supporting us in our charitable work.”
