THE organisers of Barningham Show are already planning for next year after the event made a successful post-pandemic comeback this autumn.
Despite the uncertainty of whether it would go ahead villagers said they enjoyed a “great show” .
Jill Collyer, from the committee, said: “We had a good turnout of entries and a lovely afternoon bringing the community together once again.
“We had an open air presentation led by the committee chairman Tony Orton and awards were presented by Revd Anthony Kirby.”
At last week’s committee meeting, members agreed to confirm the categories for next year’s show, which takes place on September 4, in the new year so people have longer to plan and produce their entries. Ms Collyer said: “We plan to hold craft days at the village hall in the summer for the children to work on their entries.
“In addition we’re also hoping to find ways to create a more inclusive event, providing guidance and encouraging new growers and crafters who may not have entered the show in the past to submit entries in 2022 after perhaps having developed new skills and interests during the recent lockdowns.”
