Fun sessions make up for missing school’s sports day

GO SLOW: A determined Thea sets off on the slow race ahead of Harry and Angus

FORCED to abandon their annual sports day, pupils at Gainford Primary School instead enjoyed a week-long festival of fun activities.
Archery, cycling, yoga, frisbee and multi-sports were among the activities the school’s two bubble groups took part in last week.
Headteacher Chris Reilly said coaches were called in to present the activities including Paddy Muir of Swale Cycling who taught bicycle maintenance, safety, and skills, as well as organising a slow-race where the pupils won by coming last.
Kyle Swankie, of Swankie Sports, presented the multi-sports session while Sarah Hodgson delivered the yoga as well as wellbeing sessions.
