POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a woman died following a collision near Winston on Monday, December 16.
The woman, who was in her 90s, was driving her car when she was involved in a collision with a van on the A67 just after 12.30pm.
A police spokesperson said: “The woman was taken to James Cook University Hospital, in Middlesbrough, where she underwent emergency surgery but sadly passed away on Friday, December 20.
“The driver of the van was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.
“He has since been released on bail.”
Enquiries are ongoing but anyone with any information or dash cam footage is urged to dial 101 and quote incident reference 171 of December 16.
