Artisans’ outlet reopens its doors

REOPEN AT LAST: Nik and Tracy Lamont from Lawn Hero are pleased to be selling their wildflower seeds at Jane Addison's Goodsyard Crafts

A POPULAR dale craft shop reopened its doors last week, albeit more than four months later than expected.
Goodsyard Crafts, Interiors and Collectables, behind The Crown, at Mickleton, was due to reopen in April after the winter shutdown, but was unable to do so because of coronavirus restrictions.
For the past five years, the shop has been a space where craftspeople can display and sell their homemade products. Jane Addison, who manages Goodsyard, said: “They bring their stock in, I sell it on, and they take the money. We have five new craftspeople this year.
“We have Made With Love jewellery, Purple Juniper with a mixture of crafts, Sue Richards, who does knitting, sewing and weaving, Lawn Hero, with wildflower seeds, and Judith Owsten from Step In with handmade jewellery.
“We also have Kilbarchan crafts with Harris tweed gnome doorstops. I think they are wicked.”
Lawn Hero also plans to sell its new range of the wildflower-infused teas and coffees at Goodsyard.
Other items on sale include individually designed knitted hats, picture frames, needle case kits, cushions and scented candles and soaps.
This year the shop plans to raise cash for two charities.
Ms Addison said: “We are supporting Parkinson’s UKs research because one of our crafters has been diagnosed with it and is not doing well and Battersea Dogs Home because I love dogs and cats.”
The shop is open from 11am to 4pm from Thursday through to Sunday.
