A COCKFIELD boxer, undefeated since turning pro, hopes supporters will cheer him on when he takes to the ring in a lightweight title bout in March.

Since turning professional 18 months ago Nathan Forrest has racked up the wins and after six bouts remains undefeated.

For his next fight the 24-year-old is taking on Kai Richmond, from Spennymoor, at the Rainton Arena on March 16 for the Northern Area Lightweight title.

He said: “I’ve boxed for the best part of 10 years now and this is the opportunity I’ve been waiting for. In eight weeks, you’ll see what I can do.”

Nathan, who also coaches at Barnard Castle Amateur Boxing Club, added: “Everyone who has ever bought a ticket to come and watch me has helped me to get to this point.

“The journey is only just beginning and I will be going home with that belt around my waist and the newly crowned king of the north.”

The 10-round fight, titled the Shamrock Brawl, will take place at Rainton Arena on Friday, March 16. Anyone wishing to attend the event to show their support should contact Nathan Forrest through social media.
