The Teesdale Mercury has been the voice of the dale since 1854. It is independent of political parties, private interests and government.
The newspaper sells about 6,000 copies a week and reaches over 70 per cent of all households in its catchment area, offering our advertisers a fantastic opportunity.
Our philosophy has remained the same since the newspaper was founded – if it happens in Teesdale, it goes in the Mercury. We have a shop in Barnard Castle’s high street, selling stationery, gifts and newspapers.
Our policy is to provide our readers with a news and information service that is fair, accurate and balanced. No part of this newspaper may be broadcast, reproduced or republished in any form or by any means without permission of the editor.
The Teesdale Mercury is published by Teesdale Mercury Ltd at 24 Market Place, Barnard Castle, County Durham, DL12 8NB. Registered at the Post Office as a newspaper, the cover price is 75p.
